If you have been through the distress and embarrassment of having acne and tried many treatments to resolve it then you will be happy to hear this.
It is not surprising that many treatments are not successful because they are not treating the underlying causes.
The principal cause of acne is obstruction of a hair follicle. This is an opening in the skin which usually, but not always, has a hair growing out of it. When this becomes blocked by dead skin cells and oil from the oil gland the gland continues to produce oil and can cause the gland or follicle to rupture. This rupturing releases oil and dead skin cells into the terminus or top layer of the skin which does not like this and reacts by becoming inflamed. This inflammation causes redness and swelling and then bacteria in their hair follicle create infection which causes the familiar white top on the pustule.
