Cellulite is one of the problems we see most often and up until quite recently this was difficult to deal with.
You can run, you can diet you can go to the gym, you can have massages and alternative therapies but the reality is that cellulite can still be difficult to get rid of by these means alone.
It is believed that a range of factors can cause cellulite. These include heredity, toxins in our diet, weight gain and lack of exercise.
Cellulite is fat that is unevenly bound by the tissue structures beneath the skin. Bands of fibrous tissue (collagen fibres) criss-cross over the area and as the amount of fat between these expands, bulges form outwards in a similar way to the upholstery on a Chesterfield couch. This forms the familiar uneven surface that we see when looking at the skin. For most women, these bound-in fat deposits are extremely difficult to reduce or shift, even with the most dedicated dietary and exercise regime.
Your treatment will naturally only be undertaken after a consultation with one of our doctors. When you are completely comfortable with their recommendation, we do have effective treatments for cellulite:
- Mesotherapy - special medications are injected into the areas of cellulite that stimulate the body to eliminate the fat pockets. Read more...
- Acoustic Wave Therapy - is a new technology for reducing cellulite that works differently to laser, heat and radio frequency modalities. Having seen it's capabilities we are one of the first centres in Australia to have this new treatment available. Find out more...
Other treatments for cellulite include endermology, massage, subcision.
