Naturopathy works with your bodies own systems to treat all of you.
One of our clients once said to us that feeling 100% is "a bit like buying a new pair of runners. You think the old pair are really OK until you step into the new pair and feel the difference!"
That pretty well sums up the sort of changes in health, vitality and attitude we see in our naturopathy clients. The sad flip side of this is that so many people live years of their life at a sub optimal level. How often do you hear friends and colleagues say they "don't feel 100%" but can't seem to put their finger on just what is wrong with them?
If this is you then we can help.
What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is an approach to healing that uses modern nutritional knowledge and testing overlaid on the effectiveness base of thousands of years of traditional medicine from eastern and western cultures. Naturopathy takes the approach that the body has an inbuilt ability to heal itself and assists this by a number of therapies.
These include:
- Nutritional counselling - The body requires basic essential nutrients for optimum function and survival. Deficiencies and extremes of these can be corrected for optimal health. This focuses on nutritional health, weight loss without counting calories and quality not quantity.
- Iridology - Iris analysis as a diagnostic tool.
- Homeopathy - Safe and effective medicine for the whole family used to treat acute and chronic conditions.
- Herbalism - The use of natures medicinal plants to repair the body and restore balance.
- Massage - Remedial touch for relaxation, circulation and muscular problems.
Although the majority of modern drugs are based on the actives in plant medicines naturopathy sees disease as the body attempting to heal itself and works to rebalance and restore your bodies natural systems rather than manipulating or suppressing these as some drug therapies do.
What can naturopathy do for you?
- Help you deal with a whole range of chronic, systemic or emotional issues that are affecting the quality of your life.
- Give you added vitality to live your life to its maximum potential.
- Help you recover as quickly as possible from a cosmetic procedure and help you obtain the best possible result from this. Healing is a direct function of the health of your immune system and correct nutrition greatly assists this.
What sort of conditions is naturopathy used to treat?
Naturopathy treats your body and mind as a connected whole and has often been successful in dealing with conditions that have not responded well to conventional drug therapy although it can work in partnership with this.
Many patients opt for the naturopathic option after conventional regimes have proved ineffective or because they want to avoid side effects.
Naturopathic treatment can be an option in the following conditions:
- Digestive troubles
- Constipation
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- Sinus
- Hay fever
- Depression
- Chronic tiredness
- Tired eyes
- Elevated cholesterol
- Arthritis
- Skin conditions
- Blood sugar lows and highs
- Insomnia
- Constant colds and flu
- Viral or bacterial infections
- Autoimmune issues
- Sadness/grief
- Lower back pain
- Knee pain

How naturopathy can help your cosmetic procedures
Here at The Ashley Centre we have always prided ourselves on treating you as a whole person and our care does not stop just because your treatment is completed. For that reason naturopathy is a perfect fit with our real job here, which is helping you make your life better.
For many clients a cosmetic treatment becomes the beginning of a journey back to health and vitality. It's a fresh start, a confidence turbocharger and a sense of new possibilities that are waiting to be grasped.
How long does it take to see and feel changes?
Because everyone is an individual it is difficult to give a cover all answers to this. When you see and feel changes depends on many variables - the condition you are trying to correct, the treatments undertaken and the time it takes your body to react.
That said, the good news is that a lot of our client describe feeling better within the first few weeks and report a slow but steady improvement from then on.
Naturopathy is a natural process and natural processes do take time. Chronic conditions often take many years to manifest themselves so it is only to be expected that they can take some time to resolve. However when improvement does happen it is sustainable without the expense and side effects of conventional drug therapies.
